William R. Hough Hall- University of Florida
Built in 2010.
Designed by Rowe Architects Inc..
The design of this structure was based largely on the College of Business Administration’s desire to foster a team-based philosophy of business education. From covered porches and lounges on each floor, to the building’s centerpiece – a grand three-story Court – the building offers an abundant variety of places to meet, study and collaborate. Both instructional and office spaces are purposefully distributed on each floor rather than segregated vertically, facilitating interaction among students, faculty and staff. This progressive, state-of-the-art learning environment is configured consistently with the iconography of the campus’ historic buildings, utilizing a gabled structure and familiar materials such as red brick masonry, cast stone and clay tile roofing.
